So I would like to get a gourami, but I'm not sure if they are compatible with glofish. I know the dwarf gourmis are, but please let me know if any of the following gouramis are compatible as well:
Glofish are genetically-modified Zebra Danio so the info on this species in our profiles [you can click the shaded name to see the profile] is relevant. And as these are active swimmers, they should not be housed with sedate fish such as any of the gourami. The Danio/glofish may annoy the gourami with their constant activity.
Secondarily, some of the gourami get quite large and all are territorial, males particularly. They sometimes take a dislike to other fish. Tank size has a major role in this, as without sufficient "space" many fish become more aggressive than normally they would be. You can check our profiles on the listed gourami species, Blue Gourami [the Gold and Opaline are the same species, just colour variants], Pearl Gourami, and Dwarf Gourami for info on tank sizes, numbers, etc.
Byron.
