Dying honey gouramis

Hi,
I used to have 4 honey gouramis in my 55 gallon tank. However they stopped eating and slowly died off. I'd looked carefully at each of them and they seemed fine....all except the last one. Her tail was frayed and she had fuzzy growth on her right side. I am sure it was fungus. Was wondering if she died of some kind of fungal infection.
The other fish (neon tetras and harlequin rasboras) are fine.
I would like to get some honey gouramis again. Any suggestions to make sure they don't get a fungal infection? Also, I have started quarantining my fish before adding them to the tank, so that should help as well.
Thanks,
Ami

My best advice is keep your water clean, clean, clean. Water changes of 40-50% every week. Not introducing fish without quarantining is a smart plan too.
