lovely fish :o) what is the tank size? do you have any problems with the male fighting for the female attention? getting territorial? Isn't it best to have more females or are the fairly easy going fish? anything you can tell me about these fish would be greatly appreciated it's best to get advice from people who keep them - thanks

The tank is 47G. with lots of hiding places between and underneath rocks and under floating plants (vallisneria that floats and riccia fluitans). Plants like that are necessary since chuna's are shy fish and they wont move otherwise. The more hideouts u provide, the more lively they become. They dont fight, they just dance. They samba ard a female...and when two mails meet head on, they usually both do a 180 and hurry back where they came from. sometimes they start doing the twist side by side to see who's alpha. For small fish, the chuna's are very funny and show interesting behaviour. When they find a partner to spawn they start building a bubblenest....but they are much clumsier at it than the big gouramis...also funny.

hi thanks for the info. I think you're fish have got lovely colouring with the female presence and what a lovely big tank you've got. I'll look out for the floating plants, my gouramis love the plants I've got on either side of tank and tend to swim in those most of the time and shoot across the tank from side to side maybe with some more cover to stop the light they'll come out into the middle more. :o) They do playfully dance about a lot and it's interesting to know they're probably sussing eachother out.
