Question Best place to get high quality betta?

I recently moved to Moscow Idaho and want to rekindle my passion for breeding betta. But I dont know where to start getting fresh stock. Where do you guys get your betta from for a decent price (cause I am a college student :p and low on money ). I also have never bought any fish online so I'm not sure how to do it. I would really like to breed halfmoons, crowntails, or plakats if that helps narrow it down. I do know of Aquabid but how do you search locally cause I dont really have the money to ship a fish from Thailand

Take care of the water,
the fish will follow

find out when your local fish stores get their shipments in. the most stunning bettas i have are from Petco of all places. if you get there on the same day as their shipment or the next, you usually have your choice of the primo fishies.

my avatar is a petco betta. good luck.

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

Try to locate a breeder or club near you. go to IBC Bettas.org. Go to chapters and find one near you.

I only have 1 betta left, but he's a cool blue marble!

you could try aquabid.com

Bettas ship well so it would be an option for this species.

I have ordered fish online before and never had a problem.

30 gallon species tank
- Ameca Splendens (breeding trio - expecting first fry in Feb)
55 gallon planted
- Montezumae swordtails (7 young adults)
- Corydoras Paleatus (5 young adults)
- 2 female guppies + fry and various ghost shrimp
