Post Are any vegetables good to feed gourami for treat?

I've hear chopped zucchini or peas or even lettuce leaves washed really well are good treats for fish (not just gourami but molly, spotted african leaf fish, plecto catfish, danio etc) <---those are my fish. I have also heard insects are good for them. I don't mean blood worms ( already they love those...they eat them like spaghetti lol). But when reading I came across something saying tropical fish in the wild love insects like fruit flies...etc. ( I wondered about pet store crickets?) Anyone know what kind of veggies, or insects, or even anything about thawed frozen pre cooked shrimp from grocery store chopped up, as treats for fish? I've heard all different opinions about it from MANY different articles, websites, bloggers...etc... So I can't really figure out if any of this would be appropriate for fish treats other than their everyday flakes and drop pellets.

My blue gourami eats EVERYTHING!! He eats bloodworms, brine shrimp, peas, green beans, cucumber, cooked shrimp, guppy fry, algae wafers, betta pellets, flakes, frog bites, and he inhales earthworms. I don't know if your fish have a preference and won't eat those but good luck.

That's awesome thanks! How small do you cut up the cucumbers and the cooked shrimp? Should they be really tiny pieces?

I cut one slice of cucumber into about 8 peices and you can use the same size for the shrimp. It also depends on the size of the fish. My blue gourami has a huge mouth but if it is a dwarf the peices should be a little smaller.
